At Aswanley we try to encourage an active interest in the country. An array of field sports are on offer at Aswanley, one of which is shooting. Days shooting can vary from a day out with a professional local keeper and dog, to a large driven day pheasant or partridge shooting with beaters, pickers up and gun dogs.

For the expert: We have established a reputation for challenging days for Partridge, during September and October and Pheasant, from October till February. The use of topography alongside careful planning delivers exceptional birds in a variety of locations, producing some outstanding highland shooting. As The Field magazine comments, 'there are staggeringly difficult birds on most drives'. Days are organised on an informal yet traditional family shoot basis. Driven days include a delicious homemade three course private lunch and afternoon tea at Aswanley house.

For the beginner: Aswanley is an excellent place for families or beginners to explore field sports in a friendly environment. Experienced professionals are available to guide or provide tuition. We want to encourage the novice and test the expert, so let us know your requirements and we'll organise a day to suit.

We offer a sporting package which can be organised for different sized parties. This could include salmon or trout fishing, shooting and roe deer stalking depending on choice. Salmon fishing in the morning, with perhaps a pigeon flight or rabbit ferreting in the afternoon, followed by a stalk in the evening. The Estate is also developing a clay pigeon layout; Clay pigeon shooting is an exciting and challenging alternative to game shooting.
