|The fireplace room, in the renovated Victorian barn, is the perfect venue for wedding receptions. At one end is the enormous baronial fireplace, at the other a beautiful contemporary oak bar. The furniture can be arranged to suit the size of your wedding reception - so if you want an intimate winter wedding, sofas and armchairs can surround the fireplace. For a large summer wedding reception, we can clear the room and open the doors to the river terrace, so you can drink champagne in the sun outside the reception venue.
We try to meet any requests and can order, within reason, special drinks outwith our standard bar list for your wedding reception. Kingfisher Lager is offered as the draught beer and you can choose one Real Ale. It is up to you how you would like to fund the bar for your wedding reception - a tab can be kept up to an arranged amount, the full evening can be covered by the hosts or the guests can pay for their drinks.
We have developed a varied and extensive Aswanley wine list. A wedding sampling case gives the bride and groom the opportunity to try a selection of the wines - all in the name of research! If you have your heart set on a particular wine that is not on the list, we charge a modest corkage fee. This includes placing the order, taking, sorting and chillling the delivery.
We work with a select group of trusted Aberdeenshire and Moray caterers. They can provide menus suitable for a range of budgets, from champagne wedding receptions with nibbles to full wedding lunches and dinners to hog roasts, waited on by friendly Aberdeenshire staff. We have a well equipped catering kitchen at the Aswanley Steading which is included in the cost of the wedding venue hire. This includes cutlery, crockery and glassware for up to 150 people.
