The Reception

You have a choice of beautiful spaces for your reception.

The fireplace room is at the centre of the barn – it has a stylish oak bar, baronial fireplace and interior furnishings reflecting the local area. The furniture can be arranged to suit the size and style of your wedding; so if you want an intimate gathering, sofas and armchairs can surround the fireplace. For a large summer reception, we can open the doors to the river terrace, so you can drink champagne overlooking the Deveron valley. Adjoining the fireplace room is the dining room and the ballroom – the ultimate place for a ceilidh.

The drink

We have developed a varied Aswanley wine list. A sample case gives you the opportunity to try a selection of the wines. You can supply your own wine and champagne subject to £5 corkage per bottle. Our standard bar list includes a wide range of gins, whiskies, spirits at very reasonable prices. Peroni is our draught beer of choice. However, we are more than happy to order in specific beers or spirts for you.

You can decide how you would like to fund the bar; a tab can be kept up to an arranged amount, the full evening can be covered by the hosts or guests can pay for their drinks.

The food

We work with a select group of trusted Aberdeenshire and Moray caterers. They can provide menus suitable for a range of budgets, from champagne wedding receptions to hog roasts. We have a well equipped catering kitchen in the barn which is included in the venue hire charge. This includes cutlery, crockery and glassware for up to 150 people.
