The Wedding Venue
Aswanley, near Huntly, is one of the most popular Aberdeenshire wedding venues. The venue consists of the grounds of a Sixteenth Century fortified house and an impressive Victorian barn overlooking the River Deveron valley.
Ceremonies of all denominations can take place in the beautiful gardens or in the barn.
The barn consists of a series of interconnecting rooms with the fireplace room at the centre, with its oak bar, pine beams and enormous fireplace. The fireplace room is an ideal space for ceremonies – from intimate family gatherings to large wedding ceremonies – summer or winter. In summer we can open the French windows to the river terrace and arrange tables so you can drink champagne in the sun overlooking the valley. In the winter, guests can relax with a dram next to the roaring fire.
Off the fireplace room is the dining room, a long barn that can seat up to 154 people to dine banqueting style. For larger parties, the dance floor can also be used for dining.
The barn rooms are separated by enormous wooden doors, which can be left closed until the appropriate time to wow guests with the wedding breakfast. It’s the space and flexibility of these room layouts that make Aswanley one of the most adaptable Aberdeenshire wedding venues.
A Highland wedding venue would not be complete without a space for a ceilidh. White arches separate the wedding venue’s ballroom room from the dining area, so guests can easily watch the dancing from their seats.
We are entirely flexible – you can hire the entire wedding venue or just the rooms you need. We have a professional, friendly team who take pride in offering exceptional bespoke weddings.
