Religious, humanist and civil wedding ceremonies can be conducted in the garden at Aswanley or in the fireplace room in the Steading.
Wedding ceremonies in the garden can take place under the magnificent old ash tree on the lawn in front of the house. There is a gradual slope towards the tree, which enables all the wedding guests to see the bride and groom as they take their wedding vows. Alternatively, you could chose to take your wedding vows under the charming 16th Century stone arch or on the circular lawn next to the water fountain. A toast can be raised to the newly weds with champagne served in the garden immediately after the wedding ceremony.
For the wedding ceremony music there is a wealth of talented Aberdeenshire musicians, from string quartets to brass bands. No wedding ceremony in Scotland is complete without a piper who traditionally plays in the guests and plays out the newlyweds. You may even want a full pipe band. We can easily arrange both, as well as providing examples of popular wedding ceremony music.
The fireplace room can host both religious and civil wedding ceremonies and can fit over 100 people. If you have a larger number of guests, and a minister officiating, the ballroom seats over 200 for a religious wedding ceremony. For those who prefer a church wedding ceremony, the parish church is just over the hill in Botriphnie and there is a Roman Catholic Church in Huntly.
