|Aswanley, near Huntly, is one of the best Aberdeenshire wedding venues. The space and flexibility of the wedding venue is second to none, and it's under an hour's drive from Aberdeen but feels a world away.
Religious or civil wedding ceremonies can take place in beautiful Aswanley gardens or in the main wedding venue - The Steading - which is a large renovated Victorian barn. The steading consists of a series of interconnecting barns with the fireplace room at the centre, with its oak bar, pine beams and enormous fireplace. This is the ideal space for religious or civil wedding ceremonies or just the wedding reception, summer or winter. In summer we can open the French windows to the river terrace and arrange tables so you can drink champagne in the sun outside the wedding venue. In the winter, guests can sip a dram next to the roaring fire. The enormous fireplace really does makes it the perfect winter wedding venue.
Off the fireplace room is the dining room, a long barn that is best suited to fit from 100-150 people to dine banqueting style. For larger parties, the dance floor can also be use for dining. The barn rooms are separated by enormous wooden doors, which can be left closed until the appropriate time to wow guests with the wedding breakfast. The interconnecting rooms of the wedding venue are so adaptable it is possible to unfold new areas throughout the day.
No wedding venue in the Scottish Highlands would be complete without a space for a Ceilidh. White arches separate the wedding venue's ballroom room from the dining area, so guests can easily watch the dancing from their seats. And we are entirely flexible - you can hire the entire wedding venue or just the rooms you need.
