Westerpark
This secluded stone cottage is great for friends and families who want to relax in the countryside.
The Interior
Westerpark has a spacious kitchen with a large dining table, a comfortable sitting room with an open fire and all the bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. The holiday cottage has two upstairs bedrooms and one downstairs. Two of the bedrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs) have twin beds which can be zipped together to make a super king double bed. There is a large utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and airing cupboard as well as space for dog beds and sporting equipment.
The Garden
The house has an extensive garden with multiple outdoor seating areas. There’s a table and chairs next to the south facing kitchen, and another set at the back of the house which catches the evening sun. There is a rustic fire pit in our newly planted wildflower meadow. Adventurous kids love all the outdoor space at Westerpark – there’s a swing over the burn, woods to explore and two large lawns for games (visitors can use the football goal stored in the shed).
Cycling and Walking
There are walks and bike rides straight from the door. Route maps of six short local cross country routes are available on arrival at the cottage (from a 2km walk – 12 km ride). There is good road riding from the cottage; a favourite is a 24 mile loop (with 500m of climbing) towards Dufftown, then to the Cabrach and back to Glass. Nearby, in the Cabrach, there are 4 new waymarked walking and cross-country routes (8 miles away) and the nearest purpose built mountain bike trails are at Moray Monster Trails (20 miles away) and Glenlivet Estate near Tomintoul (29 miles).
Wedding Accommodation
Westerpark cottage is just over the hill from Aswanley wedding venue. It’s a popular place for the bridal party to stay. There’s plenty of space and the large kitchen can double up as a temporary make up studio, as well as accommodating additional guests for dinner (the table can seat 10 people). The neutral grey interior walls provide an elegant backdrop for preparation photos and outside the rustic farm building walls give character and warmth.
