The Ceremony
Your ceremony can be held indoors or outdoors to suit the style of your day. Religious, humanist, civil ceremonies and partnerships can all be conducted at Aswanley.
Indoor Ceremonies
If you would like to have your ceremony indoors then there are two options: the fireplace room and the ballroom. The fireplace room is an airy space, with wooden beams and a beautiful baronial fireplace, that can host micro weddings to ceremonies with up to 132 guests. The ballroom is a longer space, with lower wooden beams, that can fit up to 250 guests. Many couples request the use of our moongate to create a dreamy space for their vows at the end of the barn.
Outdoor Ceremonies
Outdoor ceremonies take place on the lawn outside the barn. You can choose how you would like our team to layout your ceremony – we’ve had all sorts of different arrangements. Of course the weather plays a part in outdoor weddings! If there are adverse weather conditions and the ceremony is unable to go ahead outdoors, then we will relocate to the fireplace room. There will be no stress or fuss; our team will just move to Plan B!
Church Service
For those who would like a church service, there is a Roman Catholic Church in Huntly, six miles away, or St Andrews Glass is just down the road. St Andrews has stopped operating as a Church of Scotland parish church so you can use a celebrant of your choice and we can arrange the service as you wish. The fee for opening up the church is £420. Let us know if you are interested in this option.
